Game Reports

@ UW Stout October 18 2009

For the sixth time this season, the St. Kate's soccer team headed to overtime. Unfortunately that familiarity with the extra session did not help the Wildcats this time around as they fell to UW-Stout 3-2.
The Wildcats scored two quick first half goals and looked to be in great position for the win. Just 1:32 into the game Megan Gosselin picked up her fourth goal of the season off a corner kick to give St. Kate's a 1-0 lead.
Three minutes later it was another sophomore, Sam Levercom, who found the back of the net. Claire Saunders picked up the assist on Levercom's first goal of the season.
After an exciting first five minutes of play, the scoreboard did not change for the next fifty minutes. Early in the second half UW-Stout scored to make it 2-1. Then at the 73:23 mark of the game the Blue Devils tied the game at two.
At the 8:30 mark of overtime Stout scored their game winner on a header from a crossing pass in front of the Wildcats net.
St. Kate's is now 4-7-3 on the season. They return home on Wednesday October 21 to face UW-Superior.
