St. Kate's vs. St. Mary's U - Sept. 26

After a very solid game on Wednesday, consistency and confidence were the 2 items we were looking for. With a couple of injuries we had to change the starting line - up.

A very scrappy, but even game materialized. Neither team could control the ball or game and St. Kate's dropped to a lower playing level than is required to win games in our conference.
We had one of two small opportunities but failed to take them. Also a missed PK in the first half meant a 0-0 game at half.

St. Kate's stepped a gear in the second half but again failed to take any chances we had. Inevitably SMU took the one good chance they had and we left with nothing. A frustrating week, a very talented group but are just not getting the bounces that will get us the goals we deserve

The next game will see us play Hamline on Wednesday at 4pm in St. Paul

St. Kate's Vs Concordia - Sept 23, 2009

Pre-game:
We had a really good warm-up. In the classroom we talked about been confident and how that will effect our game.

Game:
Concordia came out strong but we were ready to defend. For large portions of the game we were dominant in our possession. Bridget Berry made remarkable saves after another despite having a swollen eye from being hit in the face the day before. We battled it out for the full 90 min and with no goals we found ourselves in over time. Despite our hard work, Concordia score three minutes into the overtime.

Post game:
It was a close game and probable the best we played so far. There were a lot of positives that came out of the game. We disappointed in the loss. However, we felt proud of holding off one of the top 20 DIII teams in the nation for 93 minutes
